Venezuela protest death toll rises in renewed violence

(Peter Stanley) Two more people have been killed in Venezuela due to the anti and pro government marches and protests going on. This has raised the death toll to 23 people killed in the last three weeks of the protests. The newest protests have center around a ruling by the Supreme Court to take over the responsibilities and duties of the opposition controlled National Assembly. Even though the Court reversed the ruling protests still broke out. There has been no sign of the protests dying down and opposition groups have vowed to keep protesting until elections that are supposed to happen at the end of 2018 are brought forward. This continuation of protests across Venezuela shows a willingness of the people to stand against the government which was instilled in the people from years of previous leadership of their government which had damaged the country.
