Venezuela protest death toll rises in renewed violence

Venezuela’s protester deaths had increased even more. The most recent protest arose after a decision by the Supreme Court to take over the powers of the opposition-dominated National Assembly. Anti-government protests have been occurring day after day across cities in Venezuela. There is also little chance that the protests will stop, since as stated in the article “the opposition has vowed to “stay on the streets” until presidential elections due to be held at the end of 2018 are brought forward.” As of now the total death toll has risen to twenty-three in only three weeks of protests.
I wrote about the protests happening in Venezuela last week and the situation is getting worse as the time passes. In last week’s article, several Latin America nations got together and condemned the actions against protesters, suggesting that elections should be rushed to stop senseless killings.
